Creating future changemakers through STEM education

Ban Na Klang School, Huay Puk Kood Campus | 7 July 2026 Ban Sam Sop School | 9 July 2026 Ban Na Klang School | 8 July 2026 Ban Mae Na Chon School | 10 July 2026 Lead teachers from the STEM for Future project organized a STEM and Active Learning activity on water conservation, enabling students to learn through hands-on experiences using the school’s water resources as a living classroom. Students explored local water sources and the school’s water system to investigate the origin, flow, and quality of water while observing the surrounding environment and identifying factors that affect water resources. They collected and analyzed data, discussed potential challenges, and proposed practical solutions to conserve and protect local water sources, ensuring sustainable access to clean water for the school and community. The activity strengthened students’ critical thinking, problem-solving, communication, teamwork, and evidence-based decision-making skills. It also fostered environmental awareness and helped students understand the vital connection between natural resources and community well-being. By learning directly from their local watershed, students gained practical knowledge, developed a sense of responsibility for water conservation, and recognized their role in protecting natural resources. The activity demonstrated that meaningful STEM learning empowers young people to become responsible citizens who contribute to the sustainable management of water resources in their communities.
